Sunday 3rd August 2008 - MEDITATION -
Scripture was taken from: Psalm 119v1-8 (Contemporary English Version) ..click here..
Title was: Our LORD, you bless everyone who lives right and obeys your Law
Meditative text:
Young people can live a clean life by obeying God's word."God, help me worship You with all my heart. Don't let me walk away from Your commands.
Help me treasure Your word above all else; it will keep me from sinning against You.
Help me praise You, LORD! Teach me your laws."
With my own mouth, I will tell others the laws that God has spoken.
Obeying God's instructions brings as much happiness as being rich.
"Help me study your teachings and follow Your footsteps.
Help me take pleasure in Your laws and remember Your words."
(taken from Psalm 119:9-16)
from your brother!
Matsika.

Sunday 13th July 2008 - DEVOTIONAL - (3 weeks running)
Scripture was taken from: 2 Peter 3v1-10 (Contemporary English Version) ..click here..
Title was: The Lord Jesus Christ Will Return
Devotional text:
The Lord Jesus WILL Return! How many times do you actually think about this topic? --The topic of Jesus' sure return.
Did you know that GOD NEVER LIES? Did you know that everything God says WILL COME TO PASS?
In the book of Peter, God makes it clear that Jesus is coming back to judge the whole world -- Jesus will come back to set the record straight -- Jesus will come back when God says, 'ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I will now judge every human soul and reward the faithful.'
Jesus is coming back!!! And we know this is true because GOD NEVER LIES!
There is just one problem remaining now: -- NO ONE KNOWS WHEN HE'S COMING --And that's what's scary!
IF JESUS WAS TO COME TODAY! RIGHT NOW! WHERE WILL YOU GO?
Think about this question this week..?! (i.e. if Jesus doesn't come before it ends) --and remember: WE DON'T KNOW WHEN GOD WILL GET FED UP OF ALL OUR SINS.?
Have a thoughtful week bro.
And stay in line!
I Love you. -- Matsika.

Sunday 6th July 2008 - DEVOTIONAL -
Scripture was taken from: Isaiah 51 (New Living Translation) ..click here..
Title was: A Psalm of David
Devotional text:
In Psalm 32 of the bible, it is written:' Happy and fortunate is a person whose wrongdoing is forgiven, and whose sin is covered!
How happy is the person whose sin the Lord does not hold against them, and in whose spirit there is nothing false. '
When you think about this quotation from Psalm 32, do you see yourself as a person living in God's joy of forgiveness?
Have you noticed the words of David in David's psalm 51?
David says to God:
"Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.
For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night."
In other words, doing what you know is wrong against God will fill your heart with guilt and haunt you continuously until the day you let it all out by actively asking God to forgive you!
This week, don't let guilt and sin rob you of your joy and happiness.
Instead, if you do wrong,
RUN TO GOD
and quickly pray:
DEAR GOD, HERE I AM. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE DONE WRONG. PLEASE GOD FORGIVE ME, AND RETURN INTO MY HEART THE JOY OF BEING AT PEACE WITH YOU!
Have a great week.
I Love you Brother,
Matsika!

Sunday 29th June 2008 - DEVOTIONAL -
Scripture was taken from: Isaiah 42v1-17 (New Living Translation) ..click here..
Title was: (Jesus) The Lord’s Chosen Servant
Devotional text:
This is what God says about Jesus:" He will not shout or raise his voice in public.
He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle.
He will bring justice to all who have been wronged.
He will not falter or lose heart until justice prevails throughout the earth.
Even distant lands beyond the sea will wait for his instruction. "
In this portion of scripture,
where do you think you fit in when you think about your relationship with Jesus?
In that place where you think you fit in, DO YOU SEE HIS LOVE FOR YOU?
What then are your prayers for this week as you read Isaiah 42?
